Hey Guys,
Here’s a little bit of info about me if you want a little background…
My name is Charlotte and I am a junior doctor in the UK, although now I think we’re called ‘Resident doctors’ because being a junior is bad? I want to be a surgeon, hence the sutures part, and have wanted to be a surgeon since I was about 12 years old. The aim is to do trauma surgery, so I hope to eventually specialise in Trauma & Orthopaedics or Plastics. I did Graduate Entry Medicine after completing a Masters in Biomedical Science, so yes I basically spent most of my 20s at university. In August 2025 I will be starting a new role as a Medical Education Fellow for a year. If you want to know more about doctor life and how training works in the UK check out my Nookside Notes: Medicine page. If you’re here for study material or tips and tricks, hopefully I can help there too in my Study section!
So the books part… I read a lot. Well actually I don’t read as much as I would like to, but I read a fair amount. Probably best to say I buy a lot of books. Could say I collect them, much to my other halves dismay as I slowly fill the house with bookshelves. If you want recs or reviews then you can definitely find them here, and I’ve also put some of my 5 star favourites in their own little category. Check out insta or youtube for more down-low on these plus peaks at my special editions.
Finally the brews part. She loves tea. Although to be fair she has started venturing into lots of hot drinks. To be honest in general I’m a bit of a drinks goblin, and it is very rare to find me with only one drink on the go. I very much encourage cosiness at all times and also like to do some crafts etc. I must say, I am a bit rubbish at keeping up with hobbies, but you’ll find all the crafty/lifestyle things that I get up to over in the Cosy Corner. Most importantly in the Nookside Notes and on instagram you’ll get lots of Sully pupdates, as I will take any opportunity to talk about my dog and show you pictures. He’s great. I will not hear anything otherwise.
I hope you enjoy your time here, and find something for you. At the very least, I just hope something from my little life brings you some joy or comfort or study inspo!
